Business Development Executive
Business Development Manager
Monday to Friday 9: 0 - 18:00, however you will be rquired to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties.
The Business Development Executive will provide high quality and effective marketing support for Ashurst in the region including preparing events, client e-briefings, pitches/credentials, directory/award submissions, client relationship management support and significant ad-hoc projects.
Whilst Singapore BD is the primary focus for the role holder, the individual will be required to provide support to other offices in the region and Ashurst network as required.
Providing primary BD Support for Finance, Banking, Project Finance and SDG practices.
Secondary support to the Corporate Projects practice.
Support on ADTLaw and FLA BD activities, including pitching, e-briefings, website management, brochures content etc.
Project manages the Singapore / Jakarta office e-briefing program
Project manages the capability statements for jurisdictions where we do not have an office in Southeast & South Asia, incl Myanmar, Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan.
Supports on the Singapore office client database, InterAction, and the maintenance of client lists.
Collaborates with Internal Comms Manager to share information on practice group news for various internal newsletters.
Assists with management of the business development budget, submitting business development expenditure requests as per the approvals process.
PitchingWorking with fee earners on any requests for proposals or capability statements for the clients in the region, delivering pitches to the highest of standards and to deadlines.Assisting fee earners to undertake the bid / no bid assessment, based on profitability and previous pitching track record.
Providing input to the pitch tracking system that is in place to capture pitch metrics, our pitch win/loss ratio and reasons for success in the Credentials and Bids Database.
Encouraging partners to undertake pitch debriefs to understand win/loss reasons.
Collects information on closed deals and new matters opened to feed into the Credentials and Bid System, keeping credentials up to date.
Assists fee earners in maintaining their CVs.
Maintains client brochures for primary practice supported, updating the firm's Brochure Repository.
Client Relationship Management
Responsible for the management of around 3 of the firms leading regional priority clients including:be responsible for ensuring the compilation, implementation and delivery of global client account plans, in-line with the Ashurst standard;proactively track client and industry regional news and trends, spotting revenue generation opportunities;analyse client relationships and, using gap analysis, identify and drive cross selling opportunities;set and monitor individual client budgets within their allocated industry client portfolio;coordinate client feedback - monitoring trends arising and taking ownership of actions
Profiling / Client Engagement
Co-ordinate events and seminars: source internal and external venues; prepare invite lists, associated invitations and documentation; greet the clients/delegates, updating the firm Events Calendar, etc.
Collate and draft relevant content for award/directory/league table submissions, to ensure all submissions are appropriate, consistent with the department plan and made on time.
Organisation of Ashurst sponsorship of industry conferences and other profiling opportunities.
Undertake research for pitch preparation and client strategy projects
Promote business development at practice level
Share best practice initiatives and innovative ideas across practices
Collaborate with colleagues in the BD team in other offices in Asia, as well as EMEA, US and Australia.
Assist with any other ad hoc requests as required
Essential skills and experience:
5 years of front line Business Development experience - ideally, will have worked within the legal industry or in the professional services environment.
Experience of managing complex pitches
Ability to prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines.
High level of confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy.
Experience in dealing with internal and external clients at all levels.
Knowledge and experience of managing budgets.
A team player and flexible in their approach.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to stay calm under pressure
QualificationsA degree in Marketing or Business is preferred
